Valentine's Day on calendar

Thirty-one days - About

Every single day, for a period of thirty-one days, I will do one thing that might mean I meet Mr Right. I’m going to test out all the advice we used to dish out on the Late-night Love Show I worked on; all the suggestions from the advice columns and any other good ideas that get suggested along the way.

I’ll try speed-dating, online dating, Lonely Hearts and more. I’ll take up a hobby, walk a dog, buy meals for one in the supermarket – anything that will increase the chances of that all important meeting. I’ll just do something different everyday and see what happens.

I’ll keep a diary throughout so you can check on my progress and I’ll rate each method as I go along. If I do meet people along the way then I’ll see where it goes and perhaps see them again – the ultimate goal is to find someone for Valentine’s Day 2007.

One of the days I’ll “accept and offer” – so if you want to get in touch then please do! This is just an experiment to see if any of the conventional – or not so conventional ways of meeting people really do work!

The Rules

This is not about stringing people along, using people or breaking hearts (my own included!). This is just an experiment to find out whether any of the conventional (or not so) methods of meeting someone special can actually work.

There are some basic rules:

  1. People in relationships are off limits
  2. I will be honest with people, I won’t string them along
  3. I won’t use people’s real names unless they allow me to
